Henrik Ibsen

Norway, 1828–1906. The greatest Scandinavian dramatist and the father of modern theatre; before his plays he was a poet. 'En svane' ('A Swan'), on the silent love that sings only in death, is his best-loved lyric. His work is in the public domain.
